Queens of the Angels
Project Overview
Set on the night of a lunar eclipse, Queen of the Angels follows an exotic dancer who returns home to her East Hollywood apartment for a quiet evening that soon unravels into a psychological and visual descent. What begins as a late dinner and an old noir film slowly transforms into a blurred reflection of her own reality, where fantasy and truth collide within the dim glow of the screen.
The film examines the fragile boundary between identity and illusion, using dreamlike imagery and nonlinear storytelling to explore the psyche of those drawn to Hollywood’s promise. It presents a world where ambition and despair coexist, revealing the psychological toll of chasing visibility in an industry built on spectacle. Through surreal composition and experimental structure, the narrative deconstructs both the fantasy of being seen and the darker realities that underpin it.
Queen of the Angels serves as a meditation on performance, perception, and the thin veil separating the observer from the observed. The film’s visual and auditory language invites the audience into a space where cinema itself becomes a mirror, challenging how stories are told and how they are watched.
Process & Approach
Vital provided producing, physical production, and post production support for Queen of the Angels, overseeing creative execution and operational management through delivery. We streamlined workflows, optimized communication across departments, and ensured production and post remained aligned with the film’s artistic vision and schedule. Our team managed all logistics, coordinated crews and locations, and bridged creative and technical teams to maintain consistency throughout. In post production, we guided editorial, sound design, original music composition, and color grading while supervising collaboration and quality control to achieve a unified final product that balanced artistry with efficiency.
